Digital solutions & HCL Notes / Domino expertise
Alongside engineering, Richard has deep experience designing and supporting HCL Notes / Domino applications and connected tooling for the glass and glazing sector. He builds simple, robust systems that speed up delivery, remove admin pain, and create an auditable trail from enquiry to handover.

  • Workflow & job tracking: custom Notes/Domino apps for enquiries, quoting, approvals and status dashboards.
  • Calculation registers: structured data for loads, panels and layups; quick retrieval of past jobs for repeat schemes.
  • Document automation: templated PDF reports, schedules and transmittals with automatic numbering and revision control.
  • Client & project data: contact management, correspondence logs and searchable archives to support PI and handover.
  • Integration: email capture, Excel/CSV import & export, and attachment handling for drawings, photos and test data.
  • Modernisation: web-enabled forms and views for mobile use; migration of legacy Notes databases to cleaner UIs.

The result is a joined-up process: engineering decisions are captured once, reused where appropriate and surfaced in the right format for processors, fabricators and Building Control.
